CHANGE WE NEED – CHANGE WE MUST HAVE
There are two fronts in the war on breast cancer: the battle to cure it and the battle to prevent it. In this war, 98% of the money is spent on the battle for the cure and less than 2% of the money is spent on the battle for prevention. Not only does this not make economic sense, the reality is that even if we could cure 100% of breast cancer, we would still have thousands of new cases every day. Does this make sense?
In April of this year, well in advance of the October push for breast cancer awareness, I created the Breast Health & Healing Foundation to direct attention on the urgent need to prevent the disease. Although I have sometimes felt like a lone voice in the wilderness, I am pleased to report that other organizations and scientific thought leaders are now joining me in this effort. This is the change we need. This is the change we must have.
In this time of harvest, I am happy to announce the publication of my book, The Pink Virus: Of Mice And Women And Breast Cancer. It is the story of the virus that causes breast cancer in mice and might possibly be related to a similar breast cancer-producing virus in women.
I think you will find it interesting and intriguing – an old-fashioned detective story with a still unfinished ending. Millions of women are waiting for the answer to the question, "Does a virus cause breast cancer in women?" And if it does, “What are we going to do about it, and when?”
Women want to know. Women need to know. And they need to know as soon as possible. They need to know for themselves, for their daughters, for their mothers and for their friends.
Women, on the ground and in the trenches in the war on breast cancer, have always made a difference. We need to make a difference again. We at the Breast Health & Healing Foundation need your voice, we need your hope, we need your support to help fund those scientists who are working on the breast cancer virus.
Read the book. Share the book. Support the Foundation - so that we can fund those who are researching the causes of breast cancer.
Regards,
